FireFit Individual
& Team Competition
All teams and individuals are welcome to compete. All events are open. Teams
and individuals eligible to compete for the Regional Byes
in this Regional are all departments from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI and Newfoundland. .
Competitors from other Countries are welcome to compete for a International Bye to the FireFit Championship Finals to be held in Brampton, Ontario, September 2nd to 5th.
The First Place Individual in each Category receives a Bye to Final Day of the FireFit Finals in Brampton, Ontario. Team times of 9 minutes or less qualifies a team to compete on one of the 'Wild Card Days' during The Finals in Brampton. The top 14 Teams from the two 'Wild Card Days' will move on to Final Day in Brampton.
FireFit Relay
The Top 62 Ranked Relay Teams from ALL Regionals held in 2010 will earn a spot on Final Relay Day (Sunday) at the FireFit Finals being held in Brampton, Ontario.
FireFit NxG2 Relay
The Fastest NxG2 Relay Team from each Regional Event, qualifies for a 'NxG2 Bye' on the Relay Finals Day (Sunday) at the FireFit Finals in Brampton, On. NxG2 Relay Teams with a time of 2:30 or less qualify to compete in the NxG2 'Wild Cards' held on Wild Card Days (Thursday & Friday). The top 10 NxG2 Teams from the 2 Wild Card Days will move on to the NxG2 Finals (Sunday) in Brampton, Ontario.
Hot Happenings
The 2010 Atlantic Regional Scott Firefit Championship’s will take place during Alexander Keith’s Natal Day Festival which runs from July 29 to August 2, 2010. For further information about the festival please go to their website www.natalday.org . I will point out that there will be a fireworks display on Saturday, July 31 from 10:00 to 10:15 from a barge in the middle of Halifax Harbour and also that the host hotel is located right in the centre of downtown Halifax and one block away from the Keith’s Natal Day Festival Tent at Queen’s Landing. There is a great line up of bands playing from 4pm to 12pm on Friday, July 30 when most of you will arrive.

Directions and Registering for
the Event
From the Halifax Bridges –
Come across either of Halifax’s bridges (MacDonald or MacKay) and travel south on Barrington Street till you are downtown and then stay in the left lane which turns into Hollis Street. Once you reach the corner of Hollis and Sackville Street (the location of the Radisson Suite Hotel Halifax), turn left down the hill one block to Lower Water Street. Turn right and travel south two blocks past the Alexander Keith’s Historic Brewery (on the right) & Bishop’s Landing (1475 Lower Water Street on your left) to the Cunard Parking Lot – our site. No parking is available on site (loading zone only); however, the Waterfront Development Corporation Ltd. has parking lots with reasonable rates in the area.
