FireFit Individual & Team Competition                      

All teams and individuals are welcome to compete. All events are open. Teams and individuals eligible to compete for the Regional Byes in this Regional are those Departments from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, & PEI. 

Competitors from other Countries are welcome to compete for a International Bye to the FireFit Championship Finals to be held in Halifax, NS, August 30th to September 2nd, 2007.

The First Place Individual in each Category receives a Bye to Final Day of the FireFit Finals in Halifax, Nova Scotia.   Team times of 9 minutes or less qualifies a team to compete on one of the 'Wild Card Days' at the Finals in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  The top 14 Teams from the two 'Wild Card Days' will move on to Final Day in Halifax, NS.

FireFit Relay                                                                        

The Top Relay Team from the Region will earn the Regions 'Relay Bye' on to the Relay Finals Day (Saturday) at the FireFit Finals in Halifax, NS.  Team times of 2 minutes or less for Men's Teams and 3 minutes or less for Women's Teams  qualify for 'Wild Card Rounds' on Relay Finals Day in Halifax, NS.

FireFit NxG2 Relay                                                              

The Fastest NxG2 Relay Team from each Regional Event, qualifies for a 'NxG2 Bye' on the Relay Finals Day (Saturday) at  the FireFit Finals in Halifax, NS.  NxG2 Relay Teams with a time of 2:30 or less qualify  to compete in  the NxG2 'Wild Cards' held on Wild Card Days (Thursday & Friday).  The top 10 NxG2 Teams from the 2 Wild Card Days will move on to the NxG2 Finals (Saturday) in Halifax, NS.

alFresco filmFesto

The annual alFresco filmFesto is outdoor movie fun for the whole family, an open-air cinema that is sure to please. In honour of Canada's Bravest competing on the National stage, the Atlantic Film Festival, as part of it's summer long series, is pleased to present the FireFit People's Choice Firefighter Classic on Friday night (Aug 31). The public votes on the online poll to choose one of six firefighter related movies available. Complete with concessions and contests, it has a unique festival atmosphere that you have to experience for yourself.

alFresco screenings take place at the Tall Ships Quay, Halifax Waterfront, right next to the course. The selected movie will be projected on the wall of the Electropolis building. Gates open at 8:00 PM with show time at 9:00 PM or dusk. Admission is a $5 donation to support this community event. Visit the website to learn more and vote for your favorite movie. It's a great way to relax before the big weekend.

Passage Privateers

Ahoy Mates! Are you looking for a swashbuckling adventure? Are you ready to prowl the North Atlantic in search of treasure and rid our fair shores of enemy ships?

Directions & Registering for the Event

Just a few minutes from downtown Quebec City, Expo Quebec is located on the ExpoCite site.  To get there, just take the "rue Soumande' exit from the Laurentian Highway (73) and follow the signs.  You can also reach the Expo Quebec site from the east or the west, by way of the boulevard Wilfrid-Hamel and avenue de Colisee entrances.

From the Airport, follow the 102 highway (Bicentennial Highway) all the way into Halifax until it turns into Bayers Road. Follow Bayers Rd to Connaught Avenue. Turn right onto Connaught, then follow to Jubilee Road. Turn left onto Jubilee Rd, then right on Oxford Street. Follow Oxford to South Street. Turn left on South St, follow to the end...you are at the Westin.

Alternate Route - Shorter

From the Airport, follow the 102 to the split at Fall River, bear left to the 118 into Dartmouth. Follow the 118 until it turns into Woodland Avenue. Follow Woodland Ave till the end. At the lights, turn left onto Victoria Road. Turn right at the second set of lights onto Nantucket Ave. Follow to MacDonald Bridge. Take Bridge to Halifax (75 cent toll). At the end of the bridge bear hard right onto Barrington Street. Follow Barrington, look for sign for Hollis Street. Follow Hollis St to the end...you are at the Westin.

The course is behind the Westin, and one block north on Lower Water Street.

The Banquet will be held Saturday night after the Individual Competitions.  This will be roughly a two hour Casual Event at the Red Stag Tavern in the Brewery Market on Lower Water Street (across from the competition site)  & sponsored by Keith's Brewery!  For many this will be the start of your Halifax Pub Crawl!  We will try to line up as much free cover charge as we can (details when you arrive).  Don't forget to go see some of the Tall Ships!  Ahoy!
